Notes
View Your Notes
Overview
We put this system up to try and get some of those papers all over your desk into the trash. On the 6 main types of game search pages items, factions, spells, npcs, recipes, and zones you can now make a note. This note will show up on your notes page. It's a simple system but its quick to make notes while researching and easy to look them up and organize.
New Note
If you are viewing an item you will see a menu on the left hand side of the page. At the bottom of the menu is the subsection "Add Note". Below this is a text field and a "+" button. In the textbox you can write up to 80 characters to remind you why you are noting this page. Perhaps "x6", meaning you want 1 for each character. Then click the "+" button. If you aren't logged in it will route you to the login page, then it will post a note saying the item has been noted, then it will route you back to the item you were viewing to continue your research. This all happens automatically, and quickly.
Viewing Notes
To view your notes you can click the "Notes" link in the top left corner of any page, or use the link at the top of this thread. This will navigate you to your notes. The default display will show all of your notes. There are filtered views available from the menu on the left. The first field in the table displays the type of note, then a bookmark to the page you made the note on, then the actual note you made.
Editing Notes
Navigate to the notes page as described in the section above. Once there select "Edit Notes" from the left hand menu. You will be presented with a new view. There is a trashcan icon, a double arrow icon, and a save icon.
Delete
To delete an item click in its box (away from the link or the textbox) and drag it to the trash can. You want your cursor over the can, then release. You will see trash appear in the can.
Edit Note
Each note has a textbox displaying the note text you entered when you created it. Simple click in the box and alter the text like you would any other box.
Alter Order
You can drag and drop the notes around the page to alter their order, similar to the way you would delete an item.
Saving
None of these alterations will be saved until you click the green save arrow.
Rollback
Nothing is permanently changed until you save. To rollback all the changes you've made just click the double blue arrow icon.
