and ive tried

and neither seem to work for long distances, i can run like 4 feet forward but then my character will always run off and be a hero somewhere else, did i type something in wrong?

You could try issuing a moveto to see if they get close for stick.>?

The stick will work fine for short runs but not for long runs? That sounds more like you are dropping packets - a internet connection issue. Occasionally one of my chars won't receive position updates from the server. The char which tries to be a hero somewhere else actually thinks the char it's supposed to follow is ALSO trying to be a hero somewhere else. This happens most often when I am steaming something in the background.

so no facebook / skype anything like that?

Can't hurt to try without Facebook/Skype and see if it makes a difference. Can't hurt to try with only 2 characters.

Also, the /stick command you probably want to use is this:
/bca //stick id ${Me.ID} <insert other parameters like distance, uw, behind, !front, etc>
